The old man sits on the dirt floor inside a cave. In front of him is a stone shelf carved into the wall. He is eating a leg of lamb with grease dripping down his beard. The stone walls of the cave surround the man. A simple hand-carved flute made of wood lies behind him and a large fern stands to his right, fully shading him from the sunlight. He is in a dense forest gazing at the moon's fading light through the thick trees. The forest transforms into a bustling marketplace in ancient Babylon. The fern and flute disappear. The sunset peers between the buildings as the man watches its rising light while sitting on the packed earth and eating his lamb leg. Finally, the packed earth reverts back to dirt floor as the cave walls enclose the man once more. He is back inside the small cave next to the stone shelf. The wooden flute reappears behind him. The man eats his lamb and awaits the sunset from the cave's narrow entrance, enclosed by the familiar stone walls.
